Representatives of regional/local governments take a green commitment in Sheffield

Last 5 and 6 November, Sheffield hosted the RE-GREEN final event, in which the partnership had the opportunity to publicly present the work developed over the past two years. This two-day meeting allowed the gathering of different sustainable energy industry specialists, business entrepreneurs, political stakeholders and also a representative of the INTERREG IVC programme, around issues related to sustainable housing, renewable energy and community energy schemes. It also allowed the partnership, during the final Political Board Meeting, gather with representatives of the different political regions and cities involved in the project, successfully completing the participatory and committed approach that has been promoted throughout the implementation of this inter-regional initiative. The regional implementation plans are right now ready to be put into practice by the respective authorities, who signed a letter of endorsement with encouragement for improving the environmental, social and economic performance of the built environment of the territories they represent. The municipality of Dabrowa Gornicza is a particular case of success. Its regional implementation plan has already been presented, discussed and voted in the City Council's session last March and it is ready to be implemented.
